Chamonix Off-Piste Skiing Overview
To skiers, the name Chamonix has almost a mythical quality to it. The birthplace of ski mountaineering, the French alpine village of Chamonix and it's surrounding terrain has all that any ski mountaineer could ask for. From mellow 16 mile glacier descents such as the famous Vallee Blanche to steep couloirs, there is something for any off-piste skier. The vertical relief in Chamonix is staggering, the main cable car whisks you from the center of town to the glaciers 9,000 feet above. The apres-ski is among the best.
IAG owner and IFMGA internationally certified Chamonix ski guide Dave Miller and others lead custom off-piste ski trips in Chamonix from March through April. We will customize your Chamonix skiing trip to suit your goals and ski ability. The objective here is fun and fantastic guided skiing, the likes of which you may have never experienced if you haven't spent time in Chamonix skiing. We can also include a day of off-piste skiing in nearby Verbier, Switzerland, one of the Alps top resort areas.
The days are spent among the high glaciers, couloirs and famous peaks off the Aiguille du Midi, Grand Montets & Flegere tramways. The nights are spent in town with great apres-ski, good food and comfortable hotels or chalets. We also have the option of going on overnight ski tours utilizing the local comfortable European high mountain hut system.
