Designed for advanced level resort skiers who are looking to try backcountry skiing & splitboarding, and for new backcountry skiers & boarders who are seeking professional training. This one-day instructional beginner backcountry skiing course is perfect for adventurous skiers who like fresh tracks and no crowds.

Backcountry skiing training includes:

  • Uphill skinning and track setting

  • Downhill backcountry-specific ski & boarding techniques

  • Avalanche awareness & terrain selection

  • Intro to Avalanche rescue

We conduct our backcountry skiing courses in the best backcountry ski terrain in Tahoe at Donner Summit including the Donner Peak and Mount Judah area, Castle Peak and Silver Peak next to Squaw Valley among others... The North Lake Tahoe/Truckee area has some of the most accessible backcountry ski terrain in California.

We include your avalanche safety gear, such as avalanche beacon, shovel & probe at no extra charge! No Hidden costs

SKILL & EXPERIENCE LEVEL

Required skiing & boarding ability is advanced level at a ski resort. Must be comfortable in un-groomed (powder and crud) conditions. No previous backcountry experience required. Very good physical shape required with the ability to hike uphill for many hours
