TRANS SIERRA TO MOUNT WHITNEY HIKE OVERVIEW

This Sequoia horse supported trekking adventure takes in some of the most spectacular mountain vistas in Sequoia National Park. We provide horse support to a high basecamp, so you never have to hike with a heavy pack. If you are looking to see some of the best views in the backcountry of Sequoia National Park, but dont fancy carrying a heavy pack, then this is the trip for you.

We hike out of the Crescent Meadows area on the Western slope of the Sierra Nevada along the High Sierra trail to establish a comfortable horse-supported basecamp. This allows us to take a few extra creature comforts such as camp chairs and gourmet food. From camp we spend three days exploring incredibly beautiful areas of Sequoia National Park. Day hike choices are the spectacular Valahalla area with it's soaring granite walls and domes, the beautifulTamarack Lakes area as well as visiting a remote Giant Sequoia grove.

Your local guide and naturlist will be available to interpret the natural history and show you some secret spots. Along the way there will be plenty of time for relaxation amid the incredible beauty and quiet of the Sequoia backcountry. Nights are spend around a campfire sampling gourmet backcountry cuisine and reflecting on the days adventures.
