Joe Crawford

Lead Rock, Ski & Alpine Guide

Joe didn't start exploring the mountains until a friend at the University of Oregon invited him to go rock climbing at "The Columns." Since that day, exploring and traveling in the mountains has become a way of life for Joe. Numerous climbs of the Oregon Volcanoes soon gave way to a love of all mountain sports from bouldering to ice climbing and backcountry skiing. After graduating from UO in 2011, Joe took a job guiding ascents of Mount Shasta. After 5 years of guiding climbs from the High Sierra Nevada to Mt. Shasta, Joe has begun to pursue certification through the AMGA. Currently an Apprentice Rock, Ski and Alpine Guide, he hopes to complete training to become a IFMGA guide over the next several years.

Working and playing hard toward that goal have brought Joe to work for International Alpine Guides and to explore the High Sierra personally and professionally. When he's not guiding for IAG or climbing a rock, Joe can be found skiing the Eastern Sierra.
