BEST OF THE DOLOMITES TREKKING OVERVIEW

Our best of the Dolomites trekking tour is designed for those who wish to experience the amazing trek this magical region has to offer but prefer to stay in comfortable hotels and mountain inns. We have designed an itinerary that samples the best treks the Dolomites has to offer from the Cortina d'Ampezzo area over to the Val Gardena region. We also stay in two different towns, one German-speaking and one Italian-speaking as well as a night in a high mountain refugio (inn) which we feel gives you a good overview of the entire Dolomites experience.

Located in the predominately German & Italian speaking area know as the South Tirol, the Dolomites are a hikers paradise. The Dolomites are a culturally fascinating area which was on the front lines of WWI. Along our trek we visit many WWI trenches, tunnels and sites. The area is also renowned for it's unique culinary tradition.

After meeting in the quaint city of Bolzano, Italy we move on to the valley of Val Gardena, where we spend the first few nights in a 4-star hotel. After sampling some of the best hikes of this area such as Alpi di Suisi, we then spend a night in in the Fanes Valley in a remote mountain inn accessed only by foot. We then spend the remainder of our time in the Cortina d'Ampezzo area where we will explore the famous Tre Cime de Lavaredo and Lagazoi.

This trekking tour is suitable for hikers of all abilities. However, some of the days can be long along high mountain trails. Along the way, we sample some of the gourmet cuisine the Dolomites region is known for including some fantastic lunches at small mountain refugios along the way.

Our Dolomites treks are led by American guides who have experience in this wonderful part of the world.

SKILL & EXPERIENCE LEVEL

Hikers on the Best of the Dolomites trek should be in good physical condition and have some previous hiking experience.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION & LODGING

The Dolomites Trek is an inclusive trip with all lodging, breakfast, and dinner, and transport provided. Breakfast is continental. Dinners are usually traditional fare of the region, which is renowned for it's cuisine.
