Rock Climbing in the North Tahoe area:
Donner Summit Rock Climbing
Along the old Highway Forty up to Donner Summit you will find some of the best crack climbing in Northern California. Single pitch test pieces to moderate multi pitch rock climbs on Black Wall, There is also some of the best hard granite sport climbing to be found here as well.

Hiking in the Truckee area:
Pacific Crest Trail at Donner Summit
The PCT goes right across Donner Summit at old Highway 40 and fantastic hiking is found in either direction
Backcountry Skiing in the North Tahoe area:
Much of the backcountry skiing in the North Tahoe area revolves around access and parking, which can be limited. Here are the more popular zones in Truckee and North Tahoe. Keep in mind that parking can be an issue.
