DOLOMITES ROCK CLIMBING OVERVIEW

It is hard to find such a vast collection of rock climbing peaks and features that have such a diverse array of big rock climbing routes anywhere in the world. The limestone peaks of the Dolomites have spectacular rock climbs for everyone from the easy grades of low 5th class to hard and committing routes well into the 5.10 grade. It is one of the only rock climbing areas in the world where you can climb all day on mostly vertical 5.6 rock.

The scenery in the South Tirol is amazing. This is a place where you could accidentally hit the shutter button on your camera and still take an amazing photo. Different than the rest of Italy, the Dolomites of South Tirol are an historical area and is actually mostly a German speaking, as well as Italian speaking, area known for it's great food and very good local wines.

We base ourselves out of the Sella Pass/Val Gardena/Alta Badia area and possibly also the Cortina area in the heart of the Dolomites depending on the length of your trip. Climbing choices include the classic Sella Tower traverse (a 7 hour traverse of three limestone towers) the Cinque Torre area, The Piz Palodoi, The Brenva Group...and on and on. There is a lifetime of rock climbing to do here.

For the Dolomites rock climbing trips, we provide an inclusive package including private ground transportation and lodging with breakfast. Among the lodging choices are fantastic South Tirol mountain refuges which are basically comfortable hotels with private rooms and showers, fine food and amazing views. We can also accommodate lodging upgrades to four and 5-star hotels in quaint mountain villages.

International Alpine Guides owner and IFMGA internationally certified mountain and rock guide Dave Miller personally leads trips to the Dolomites from late June through September. Availability is limited.

This is an all-inclusive trip that includes lodging and transportation. We have a 5-day minimum booking.

We can accommodate a wide range of rock climbing abilities from beginners with just a little previous rock climbing experience and who are in good physical shape, to well-seasoned alpine rock climbers looking for a hard challenge.

DOLOMITES ROCK CLIMBING GROUND TRANSPORTATION & LODGING

We provide ground transportation in private vehicle as well as pickup and drop off at the Bolzano, Italy, train station. Lodging is provided in comfortable mountain hotels (private rooms) and 3 star village inns at double occupancy. Depending on goals and objectives, we may also utilize high mountain huts with dorm style rooms.
