Here are the IAG guiding Commercial Use Authorizations & Special Use Permits that you are required to have with you while guiding


Inyo National Forest

Yosemite National Park

Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park

 

Wilderness Permits and other Paper work that is required you have while on a trip:

 Toiyabe National Forest:

1.    Wilderness Permits

a.    These are self issued at the Bridgeport ranger station from Sep 15 thorugh June.

b.    During the quota season from June 19-Sept 15 you must check with the office if there is an advance permit already aquired and if not you must wait in line at the ranger station no later than 7am on the day of your trip to aquire one.

c.     Waste packout bags for Horse Creek Canyon

Inyo National Forest:

1.    Copy of CAG commercial guiding permit

2.    Car sign

3.    Wilderness Permit issued by USFS (when needed), check with IAG office to where and when to pick up permit. You cannot go to a ranger station and receive a regular wilderness permit. It must be done ahead of time through the commercial wilderness permit office.

4.    Waste packout bags in the Whitney zone

 

Tahoe National Forest

Nothing at this time is required except a car sign

 

Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park:

1.    Copy of CAG commercial permit

2.    Wilderness Permit

o   Usually there is an advance permit issued and provided by the CAG office

Yosemite National Park:

1.    Copy of CAG commercial permit

2.    Car sign

3.     Wilderness Permit

o   Office will advise if advance permit is avaialble.

o   If no advance permit is available we will pay the guide (or other person) to wait in line at permit issueing station starting at 4am the day before trip starts

 Mount Shasta

1.    A laminated guides card in your name provided by the Forest service. This must be requested in advance.

2.    Summit Passes for all guests required for going above 10,000 ft. FILLED OUT IN THE GUESTS NAME before summit day. If the trip does not go above 10,000 feet the summit pass is not needed.

3.    Wilderness permit. Each individual guest needs to have a separate wilderness permit. They can be filled out at the trail head. There is no quota.

4.    Waste packout bags (at least 1 per day per guest). All human waste must be carried out from Shasta.
