Our intro to winter mountaineering course is one of our most popular courses we offer, winter or summer. It is designed to give guests a taste of winter travel and the mountaineering techniques associated with it. It is a beginner climbing course.

Parking at trailhead at Mono Village
Parking is on the lake side of the road about 100 yards from the entrance to Mono Village (Do not park in the turn around in front of their gate). There are no parking signs here. However, they are for the summer time and it is standard to park in any wide spots in the road here. The plows will usually leave some wider sections for parking, but sometimes you and your group may have to shovel spots out. Do not park fully in the road.

Pack out all solid human waste
The Forest service does not require users to pack out human waste. However, as a company IAG has decided to use wag bags and pack out all of our waste. This is due to the impact we have as a company in this fragile area.
