Norway Sail & Ski Tour Overview

Enjoy a week of skiing in Norway's beautiful Lyngen Alps - all from the comfort of a private sail boat. Using the sail boat as our base, we'll be able to reach ski touring destinations that can't be approached by a car. We'll sail in the fjords of the Arctic Circle and literally begin our ski tours from remote snow covered beaches. We'll climb summits on skis with amazing views and then enjoy massive descents of untouched powder-snow - right back to the boat.

With several hundred summits in the area, the Lyngen Alps is a skiers Mecca. There’s an endless variety of ski challenges, so you will always have a ski tour that fits your personal ambitions and level of fitness. Even the most dedicated off-piste skiers will manage to fulfill their dreams.

Our Sail and Ski tours can span from challenging summits to more relaxing routes that explore the natural beauty of Norway. Everything can be planned according to your wishes and skills. There are seemingly endless opportunities.

The boats are equipped with all the necessary elements to make it a cozy home for the week including: central heating, personal cabins with double berths, hot showers, and en-suite toilets, as well as a combined kitchen/living area to relax in after skiing.Regarded as a crew member, you will likely be asked to give a hand for life on-board, being on watch and taking part in maneuvers. Everyone gets to be part of the team!

Come join us this Spring to ski among the Fjords in the Lygnen Alps of Norway.

Norway Ski & Sail Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Trømso:
We spend the first night in a 4-star hotel near the harbor in the heart of the city. Everyone is responsible for their own airport transfers, which is very easy (we will provide you information). If you arrive early enough, you will meet your guide for dinner in the evening (dinner not included)

Day 2
Lille Blåmannen:
Before we start our adventure, we’ll spend some time getting to know one another, go over the logistics of the trip, and understand how to use our safety equipment. We’ll practice using our avalanche beacons, know how to properly use our probes, and develop efficient shoveling techniques.  Afterwards, we’ll drive to nearby Lille Blåmannen for a short 4 hour ski tour.  This is a perfect opportunity to make sure everyone has the proper equipment before we leave the harbor.  We set sail for the Lyngen Alps by late afternoon and will continue to use the boat as our home base for the rest of the week.

Day 3
Sandneset:
Our objective of the day is to reach the col between two peaks (Lille Galten and Storgalten).  A fast group will be able to add an extra ascent/descent before returning to the boat.  We’ll have reservations at a local sauna to relax our muscles.

Day 4
Havnnes:
Havnnes is one of Norway's most beautifully situated trading places with a fantastic views of the Lyngen Alps.  From here, we’ll do a point-to-point tour with a summit of Blatinden.  The skipper will pick us up with the dinghy and bring us back to the boat.

Day 5
Lyngseidet:
Another small village with beautiful views.  We’ll summit Rørnestinden and have an excellent descent all the way back to the sea.  Afterwards, we can visit the popular Magic Mountain Hostel to have a beer and socialize with other skiers and snowboarders.

Day 6
Akkarvik:
Our objective of the day is to summit Trolltinden.  We ski all the way back down to the boat with views of the sea the entire time.

Day 7
Sandelva River Mouth:
From our anchorage, we take our dinghy to the river mouth and skin through the woods to the summit of Nordfjellet.  The descent back to the boat is over 1,000m in length and the terrain is excellent for freeriding.  Back at the boat, we have one last apres-ski and sail back to Trømso.  Guests can choose to spend the night on the boat (in the harbor) or book an additional night at the hotel.
