Calvary Gollwitzer
Lead Rock Guide
Assistant Alpine Guide
AMGA Rock Guides Course
Calvary is a former U.S. Army Engineer Captain whose passion for climbing, the outdoors, and helping others ultimately led him into the world of ski patrol and guiding. After leaving the military, he relocated to the Sierra Nevada to immerse himself in the mountains full-time, completing the AMGA Rock Guide Course and building experience as both a ski patroller and climbing guide.
A lifelong adventurer, Calvary has climbed throughout many of the United States’ iconic climbing destinations, from the granite walls of California to desert towers and alpine peaks across the West, as well as internationally in destinations such as Kalymnos, Greece, and El Potrero Chico, Mexico. He enjoys sharing the skills, confidence, and sense of adventure that climbing has brought to his own life, whether he’s working with first-time climbers or helping experienced climbers push their abilities further.
When he’s not guiding, you’ll likely find him traveling the West in his self-built camper van, searching for new climbing areas, mountain adventures, and the next great campsite.
