Nancy grew up in the mountains of Idaho, Montana and Washington.  She began climbing, backcountry skiing and working as a field ecologist in the early 1990’s.  Nancy moved from the Cascades to Jackson Hole in 2000 and fell in love with the mountains, whitebark pine trees and the local community.  In Wyoming, Nancy keeps quite busy working as a guide for Exum, an ecologist caring for whitebark pine in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and an professional avalanche instructor.

Nancy also spent many summers climbing in the Eastern Sierra Range in California and fell in love with the landscape and peaceful communities. She began guiding for International Alpine Guides in 2018, where she loves to live in a van with her partner Colin, in the spring and fall guiding, climbing and skiing in her second home in the Sierra.

Nancy has climbed and skied in the Tetons and Wind Rivers for 20 years and the Sierra for 5 years.  She has climbed in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Alberta, British Columbia, Yosemite, Red Rocks, Indian Creek, Joshua Tree and beyond.  She loves to ski in Canada, California, the Tetons.  Gratefully so, Nancy spends nearly every single day in the mountains.  She has a passion for sharing the experience of the blissful freedom, happiness and empowerment that comes with knowing how to safely and respectfully travel through and play in the mountains.
