JOHN MUIR TRAIL SECTION, BISHOP PASS TO MAMMOTH HIKE
OVERVIEW

Want to hike the John Muir Trail but don't have time for the whole 200 miles? Hike it in sections! This section of the John Muir Trail from Bishop Pass to Mammoth Lakes via Reds Meadows is a classic section of the JMT, which also shares the famous Pacific Crest Trail, through the most Northern section of Sequoia National Park. The longest and most committing of our JMT section hikes, we hike from the trail head at South Lake over Bishop Pass into Dusy Basin before meeting up with the JMT in Leconte Canyon. Heading North we visit the beautiful Evolution Valley and then pick up a resupply at the Vermillion Resort. Then it on through the Sierra National Forest to Reds Meadows where we take a short shuttle ride back into the town of Mammoth Lakes,

We also supply a campsite and dinner the night before the trip in the Mammoth Lakes area and a private van shuttle to the beginning of the hike at South Lake Your guides will serve up great backcountry cuisine along the way. We take care of all the food and logistics allowing you to relax and enjoy the incredible scenery along the Pacific Crest Trail. We provide a resupply during the hike and a porter on the first day that allows for carrying lighter packs. The porter on day one carries some of the group gear weight to take a little load off.

Experience the adventure of hiking along the Pacific Crest and John Muir Trail through California’s spectacular High Sierra!

We provide breakfast and dinner prepared by your guide and backcountry chef from the time we meet till we part ways. You will bring your own snacks and lunch food for the fist 7 days of the hike and due to resupply logistics we will provide snacks and lunches for the last 3 days.
