Sugar Bowl Backcountry Ski and Split Board Tour - 1/2 day Overview

Want just a small taste of the amazing backcountry beyond the lifts at Sugar Bowl? Join us in the morning to ski and ride out of bounds at California’s best lift served backcountry terrain with our local AMGA certified and trained backcountry ski guides. We meet first thing in the morning, ride the lifts to go out of bounds and then after a couple great backcountry runs, we have you back are at the resort by lunch. For over 35 years we have been ski guiding the amazing backcountry terrain just beyond the lifts at Sugar Bowl Resort off Donner Pass. Not only is this the best lift served backcountry in Tahoe, it is the best in the Sierra Nevada and we are waiting to show you the goods!

Accessing the backcountry via the lifts saves a whole lot of time and gets you into untracked backcountry skiing quicker and with less effort. We still tour uphill utilizing backcountry skis with skins, but with the use of the lifts it’s kept to a minimum. Our guides know all the nooks and stashes beyond the lifts at Sugar Bowl and we are psyched to share it with you.

SKILL & EXPERIENCE LEVEL

Required skiing & boarding ability is advanced level at a ski resort. Must be comfortable in un-groomed (powder and crud) conditions. Some previous backcountry experience is required. Very good physical shape required with the ability to hike uphill for many hours
