TRADITIONAL LEADING & SELF RESCUE COURSE
Mammoth Lakes, Eastern Sierra - 3 days
TRADITIONAL LEADING & SELF RESCUE COURSE OVERVIEW
An in-depth rock climbing course in traditional leading techniques and self-rescue for those wanting to take the lead end of the rope. Located in the beautiful Eastern Sierra near the towns of Bishop and Mammoth Lakes, this climbing course is perfect for those with some previous climbing experience or for those who have been leading sport climbs but want instruction in protecting traditional rock climbs with gear. This course combines our Intro to Anchor Building with our Self Rescue Course and adds a day of traditional leading instruction.

Multi-pitch Climbing Techniques
Self-rescue when something goes wrong
We begin with thorough instruction in anchor building and protection placement. We then move on to putting together the lead and everyone gets time doing "mock" leads with gear and anchor evaluation by your rock guide.
And of course we spend time climbing some the classic climbs in the Eastern Sierra area.
We also spend a full day on self rescue techniques to learn how to rescue an injured partner. This is vital knowledge you don't ever want to use but should know if your climbing takes you on multi-pitch routes.
Taught by American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) and IFMGA internationally certified rock climbing guides.
SKILL & EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Guests on this course should have previous outdoor rock climbing experience & the ability to top rope face and crack climbs up to 5.8 in difficulty.
